Bots invade the MCC forums

Checking posts while taking a break, I noticed a new topic posted in the main area of the forum. It turns out to be gobblygook.

Is there any way you can nip this in the bud, JT?

Bots ruined one of my favorite google-run blogs / blogger. The site was overrun with bots writing nonsense on every post. The person who ran the site just gave up. I'd hate to see the MCC site sink deeper into a pool of scum and villainy that services up chicken pills with discount flights to Toronto, sipping margaritas while getting the best view of your brand new Sears grill in your foldout chairs only at Home Depot. Seriously, what is the purpose of these bots?

I manually delete the topics when they pop up.  If you want to take the mantle of spam deleter I can make you a mod.

Absolutely. I don't know if the site is constantly getting bombed, but I will help out when I can. Do you get notifications of every new post? I don't want an full inbox because I didn't know for what I was signing up. My hope is that the bots don't discover this little hidey hole. In a war of attrition, bots always win.

Do you delete bot threads DeathAdder?  I know I made you a mod but I didn't expect you to actually do anything.  I see the bot threads from time to time and clean them out.  They come and go and have never been that big of a problem.
