I just imported a Wii Mini from Canada a couple days ago and cannot wait for it to come. I also picked up Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Sin and Punishment Star Successor, and No More Heroes 2 along with an Interworks Wii Pro Controller in anticipation of the console arriving. Might take some pictures of the whole thing if I am in the right mood.

Is there a reason you're importing one of those? They don't have Gamecube support do they? Also no internets. I mainly use my Wii for Netflix and youtube so I wouldn't really be able to use one of those Canadian Wiis.
Also I was at a friends house yesterday and noticed his black Wii didn't have Gamecube controller or memory card ports. What the fuck? How long have they been selling Wii's like that?

I'll answer this backwards since it is easier for me.
The answer to your second question would be they had Wiis made that way since October of 2011. They are refered to as the "Family Version" Wiis and have replaced the original Wiis since they were released. The answer to your first question would be that I imported one for the main reason of I never liked how you put the discs into the Wii or even PS3 for that matter. You know, where the disc gets sucked into the system. This was a problem for me specifically for my orignal PS3 where it started leaving this mark on the discs that I put into it that bothered me to no extent and had to resort using my PS3 to just playing downloadable titles. However for the Wii Mini and even the new Slim PS3, I am now able to insert the discs by hand because of it being a flip top instead of having the console eat the disc and worrying that the mechanical drive will break on me in a few years. Also, I just like flip top designs more becuase it would probably be an easy fix if it breaks whereas if that disc eating drive breaks out on you, then your screwed. Actually, after I get the Wii Mini and then the PS3 Super Slim in a couple years, all of my disc based consoles, besides my Original Xbox, will have flip tops. |

When my ps3 died it had a new DVD in it. Had to include a note when I sent it off for repairs to make sure I got my disc back. So I'm totally on your side with flip tops, that's my preferred disc entry method.
That shit sucks about the Wiis removing Gamecube support though. I like playing my Gamecube titles on the Wii because of the Component cable and Widescreen mode.

I just tested out my system today and its great. I am so glad I got this re design and hopefully this will become a collector's item. Also, the Classic Controller Pro works great with No More Heroes 2. Here are a few pictures of the console with the games and controllers I got with the system.

Looks like you got some sweet ass games to go with it. I'd recommend Mad World. SHould be dirt cheap, tons of fun and has a bad ass sound track.

Yup. Actually the controller works as a Classic Controller Pro. It's called the Interworks Wii Pro Controller. I would highly recommend it. Especially since you don't have to hook it to a Wii Mote so you don't have to have a boat anchor weighing down your controller.

What's the wire coming out the bottom of that controller then? Because I don't care for the Classic controller Pro being tethered to a wii mote.
What other Wii games are on your radar? I'm thinking about picking up House of the Dead 2 and 3 just for HotD 2. I've been craving fucking light gun games! I have a TV that's suitable for older Light Gun games sitting in my room but I don't have a Saturn or ps1/2 light gun yet. But when I do...man watch out.

That wire is the charger for the controller but I leave it plugged in so I don't have to charge the controller all the time. I reccommend you get it if you are going to play a lot of games that are compatible with the Classic Controller. Too bad Donkey Kong Country Returns is not compatible.
As for Wii games on my radar. The last one that I already have pre-ordered would be Pandora's Tower. You know, the last game that was apart of Operation Rainfall and is finally going to be coming out in March. Will probably post something on the forum about it when it comes out. Might even talk about Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story as well. Another game I could recommend would be Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. Hands down one of the best games on the Wii and the definitive version of the game. I got mine new for $9 on Amazon 3 years ago and I think it is still the same. |

Why is Resident Evil 4 o nthe Wii the definitive version? What about Resident Evil 4 HD on the PSN? Does it have features removed? Is it Move compatible to mimic Wii mote functionality? Have you not done a hundred hours researching the different versions?

I think I heard somewhere that the PS3 Port was just the PS2 Port of the game that was just upscaled. However, I don't know if that was true though. But I just think the Wii version is the definitive version because I have a physical copy of the game and don't really want to download a game I can get a physical copy of. Also the Wii Version lets you play with the Classic Controller so you have an option to not use motion controls which I think is a huge plus.

I agree with that owning a physical copy if I can. Bought a new copy of House of the Dead Overkill but could have gotten it on PSN for the exact same price. I want to support Sega and HotD but man...brand new physical copy for same price is hard to pass up.
